Home. About Taen. Practice Info. EMDR / TFT. Relationship Enhancement. Contact Me.

I received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.

I am licensed in Washington State as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#: LF 00000998).

Can you feel good again?

Can you feel whole, centered, joyful and have good relationships, too?

Yep, that is the question.  I mean, you have probably spent years feeling yucky,  depressed, overwhelmed, without energy… you know. And the idea of lightness, of joy, of intimate,  meaningful relationships seems like such a wonderful thing, doesn’t it?

Sure.  Out there.

Because when you think about it you know change means work.  And you aren’t really sure you have the energy for that.  That’s where I come in.

I’m Taen Scherer, a marriage and family therapist.  I’ve worked with scores of individuals and couples seeking to put joy back into their lives, bring meaning into their day and a smile into their heart.  Many of my clients keep in periodic touch, letting me know their lives are still on track.

So, here’s what I can do for you:

Walk with you on the path of healing.  sometimes the walk is more of a slog, sometimes more of a jaunt.  Either way, we work together on maintaining momentum.

Tailor the treatment modality to your needs and desires.  I have been trained extensively in several theories of treatment.  We shall discuss and decide on whether to utilize EMDR or imagery, for example,  along with tried and true talk therapy.  And even the focus of our talk therapy changes from… say… insight work to behavioral planning to trauma reduction (again, for example).

Create learning experiences for you to do while away from therapy: otherwise known as …homework!  I base my homework for you on what surfaces in our sessions together with the goal of building on your learning or experience and opening up new awarenesses for you.

Provide a safe, comfortable space within which you can explore you. Both of my offices - in South Seattle, near Othello Light Rail Station or in SeaTac  just south of the airport -  are warm and cozy.
